Choosing the right photo

Pick a photo where they look like themselves: face toward the camera, eyes open, in good light. A portrait or a close crop works better than a small face in a group picture.

For an old print, photograph it flat in daylight, straight from above, without flash or glare. Black-and-white is fine; to keep that look, use animate old photos.

For a funeral or a memorial service
