How to make it

  1. Add a photo

One clear photo with the face toward the camera. Add a second photo if someone else should be in the video.

  2. Pick what happens

Choose an effect: a gentle smile, a hug, a dance, a trend. You do not write a prompt; each effect is a tested scene.

  3. Pick a length

Five, eight or ten seconds. Effects cost 1 credit per second, so five seconds is 5 credits.

  4. Get your video

A vertical 720p video with sound, and the credits back if it does not finish. Download it and post it anywhere.

What a photo can turn into

The simplest one is a photo that comes alive: the person in it blinks, smiles, glances aside and looks back at you, and the picture keeps its own look. That is how people animate old photos of grandparents and parents.

With two photos, the people in them can meet: a warm hug between two people who were never in the same picture, or a gentle memorial hug with someone who has passed. With one photo of you, the scene can be bigger: a camera that pulls back from your street to the whole planet in the earth zoom out, a squad of clones, a dance studio, or a viral trend.

Which photos work best

A sharp, well-lit photo with the face toward the camera works best. Upper body is enough; the video builds the rest of the scene. Avoid sunglasses, hands over the face, heavy filters and tiny faces in a group picture.

For an old print, photograph it flat in daylight, straight from above, without flash or glare. Black-and-white is fine. Most phone formats work, including HEIC from an iPhone.

Photo to video, or a rap video?

An effect is a fixed scene with no words. If you want the people in your photos to perform a song, the ai rap video generator turns two photos into a duo rapping four lines written for you, on a stage you pick. Edit any line.

Every effect is listed on the ai video effects page with its own example.
