What is the Chipmunks Dance trend?

It is a trio dance that took off on TikTok in mid-October 2026. Three people stand on a backyard court at sunset and dance to a sped-up, squeaky-voiced 80s dance song: shoulder bounces, a swap of places with hair flying, and each of them taking a turn rushing up to the camera. The name comes from the high, sped-up vocals.

Part of the fun happens in the comments, where viewers argue about which dancer is which member of the famous cartoon trio. Chipmunks Dance AI is the photo version: no rehearsal, no tripod and no need to get three people in one place.

Beat by beat

The clip copies the trend's routine move for move, with the same fixed phone camera on the court at sunset. It opens mid-swap: the three dancers trade places with big hair flips and land back in a row.

Then the turns: the first dancer rushes the lens with a huge face, the second spins out and comes in close, and the third rushes up last as the others dance behind. Your faces, hair and tops replace the original dancers'; nobody from the original clip appears.

Each photo becomes one dancer, in order. A clear, front-facing photo of one person works best; a head-and-shoulders photo is enough, and the trousers are filled in plain and dark.
